There’s a word in Shona, zuva, that means sun. It carries with it the warmth of renewal, the promise of a new day, and the enduring sense that light always returns. That single word holds everything we believe about mental wellness at Zuva Mental Health & Wellness: that healing is possible, that hope is not naive, and that every woman deserves to walk confidently in her own purpose.
Today, we’re excited to formally introduce ourselves, who we are, what we do, who we serve, and what you can expect from this blog and our practice. Whether you’ve already booked a session or you’ve just stumbled across our corner of the internet, we’re glad you’re here.
Who We Are
Zuva Mental Health & Wellness is a women’s mental health practice founded on a simple but powerful belief: that women’s mental health is complex, layered, and deeply connected to life transitions, culture, hormones, relationships, and purpose; and it deserves care that truly honors all of that.
At the heart of the practice is Petronellah Mazorodze, DNP, CRNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, DipACLM who is a double board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of healthcare experience. Her dual certification in both primary care and psychiatry, alongside a certification in lifestyle medicine, allows her to offer something rare: integrative care that addresses the intersection of physical health, mental health, hormones, and lifestyle all at once.
Her approach is collaborative and grounded in working with you, not just for you, to help you heal, grow, and live in alignment with your own purpose.
Who We Serve
Zuva is a sanctuary crafted specifically for adolescent females and women – from the first tremors of puberty all the way through menopause and beyond. We understand that each season of a woman’s life brings its own unique pressures, and that the same life event can look and feel completely different depending on where you are hormonally, culturally, and emotionally.
We provide care for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety disorders and depression, PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder), perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and postpartum depression, eating disorders and body image concerns, ADHD and OCD, grief and loss, sleep disorders, and infertility and the emotional weight of motherhood.
If you’re a woman navigating any of these challenges – or something else entirely that doesn’t fit neatly on a list – this is a space for you.
What We Offer
Our services are integrative and built around the whole person – because real healing rarely happens in just one dimension.
Psychiatric Evaluations & Diagnosis. We begin with comprehensive evaluations that go beyond symptoms – exploring your emotional health, physical wellbeing, hormonal picture, lifestyle, and personal goals to create a truly individualized treatment plan.
Medication Management. When medication is clinically appropriate, we approach it thoughtfully and collaboratively. This includes evidence-based prescribing, ongoing monitoring, shared decision-making, and even pharmacogenetic testing – a powerful tool that helps determine how your unique biology may respond to certain medications.
Counseling & Therapeutic Support. Counseling is woven into our care – helping you build coping skills, navigate life transitions, strengthen emotional resilience, and reconnect with your sense of self and purpose. For those who need more in-depth therapeutic work, we maintain a trusted network of therapists we can refer you to.
Holistic & Lifestyle-Centered Wellness. Our integrative approach may also include lifestyle interventions – restorative sleep strategies, nutrition guidance, physical activity, stress management, and mind-body wellness education. We treat the whole person, always.
How to Access Care
We know that getting to an appointment can itself be a barrier – and we’ve designed our practice to make access as easy as possible.
Virtual visits are available throughout Pennsylvania (with more states coming soon), conducted through HIPAA-compliant platforms to ensure your privacy and security. In-person appointments are available on Sundays by appointment at our Easton, PA location. We also offer flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends – because your mental health doesn’t keep office hours.
What to Expect from This Blog
This blog is an extension of everything Zuva stands for – a warm, evidence-informed, judgment-free space where women can learn, reflect, and feel less alone in their experiences.
